ATV to the Top of Waipi’o!

With vistas from the mile wide black sand beach to the 1200ft splendor of the twin Hi‘ilawe Falls, this ATV tour is a great way to experience the beauty of the Big Island.  You’ll ride your own ATV through breathtaking scenery and grandiose panoramic views, passing through eucalyptus and ginger forests on this journey through former sacred royal lands where access is limited. You can swim in the headwater of Hi‘ilawe, see the back side of Parker Ranch lands, go to the top of Waipi‘o and be one of the few to ride the rim!  Light refreshments and ‘talk story’ from the experienced, knowledgeable guides is provided.

Children 5-15yrs, the elderly, or folks not wishing to ride an ATV can enjoy the open air buggy, a Kawaskai Mule, driven by the tour guide. The ATV’s are brand new Honda Ranchers, all automatic, 4 wheel drive, clutch-less and easy to drive.

Restrictions: 16yrs and over, 100-350lbs, no tandem riding, closed shoes mandatory, safety orientation and demonstration drive mandatory. If you cannot reliably control ATV during orientation, your participation will be declined and money refunded. If you feel that you are not comfortable on the machines, you may also receive a refund.

Included: Safety gear, light refreshments.

Wear/Bring: Sturdy long pants, long-sleeved shirt and closed shoes are mandatory. Swimsuits under your clothing and bring a towel (water shoes, reef walkers, etc are suggested for slippery river rocks).

Tour length: 3 hours plus.

The Rugged Kohala Coast on an ATV!

You’ll ride a historical ocean trail on an extraordinary ATV tour along the unique windswept coastline of North Kohala tracing the old railroad path which once serviced the bustling sugar industry of the Big Island. As you ride through private ranch lands and pastures to the coast, knowledgeable local guides share the genuine history of Old Hawaii along the way. The Ocean Cliff Adventure is an enjoyable ride that is easy for every level of rider.

Your final destination is a beautiful and secluded pebbled beach, once favored by King Kamehameha the Great that is still a haven for surfers. The trail rewards riders with breathtaking scenery of the rugged Kohala coastline cliffs jutting out into the sea and sweeping countryside and open spaces.

Restrictions: No recent back or neck injury or surgery. No expectant mothers. You must be 16yrs old and weigh between 90-300lbs to drive your own ATV.  To ride as a passenger, you must be at least 12yrs old and 5ft tall. Children must weigh 50-150lbs and are required to ride with trail guides.

Included: Helmets, goggles and gloves, bottled water, juice.

Wear/Bring: Long pants and shoes are required (wear something you won’t mind getting dirty). They do tours in the rain (unless too heavy or if it rained heavily the night before) and provide rain gear.

Tour times: 8:15am, 12:45pm (please arrive 30 minutes prior).

Check in location: Highway 270 past Hawi and Kapaau towns (just past the 24 mile marker).

ATV Tour to a Private, Exclusive Waterfall!

Beginning your journey at about 250ft above sea level and traveling to the 2,500ftt elevation, you enter the rarified air of the oldest rainforest on the Big Island. Ride under canopies of trees, lanes of wild ginger patches, and cross several mountain streams. Some of the exotic plants found in their rainforest are not found anywhere else in world! You’ll visit a beautiful waterfall, and hike to the foot of a refreshing pond below. It’s all completely private and exclusive. This activity offers a lot of riding and awesome scenery with a great local company.

Restrictions: No recent back or neck injury or surgery. No expectant mothers. You must be 16yrs old to drive and weigh 90-30lbs. To ride as a passenger you must be at least 12yrs old and 5ft tall. Children between 7-11yrs old ride with professional guide.

Included: Helmets, goggles and gloves, rain gear, bottled water, juice.

Wear/Bring: Long pants and closed shoes are required (wear something you won’t mind getting dirty). They do go out in the rain, unless deemed too heavy or if it rained heavily  the night before.

Tour Times: 7:45am, 12:15pm (arrive 30 minutes prior).
